When you visit the desktop version of a Wikimedia page, you will be taken to the mobile-optimised page instead The mobile-optimised pages of Wikimedia sites are often easier to read than the desktop version. With this extension, when you visit the desktop version of a Wikipedia or Wiktionary article (or any article on a Wikimedia site), you will be taken to the mobile-optimised version of that page instead. For example, if you visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photosynthesis you will be taken to https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photosynthesis. If you visit https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/botany you will be taken to https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/botany. The exception to this is if you are editing an article. In that case you will be taken to the desktop version of the site, which you may find easier to use and more fully-featured when editing. You can control this extension with the toolbar menu, which allows you to switch it on or off, and whether it should take you to the desktop version to edit an article. If you would like to see the code that powers this extension, please see the GitHub repository here: https://github.com/beingmrkenny/WikimediaRedirect
Wikipedia Anywhere
This extension brings the mobile version of Wikipedia to any website to lookup terms without leaving the page. The extension has no visual button. To activate, select a text on the active tab and press the "W" icon that appears on top of the mouse pointer. To hide the panel, select anywhere outside the mini Wikipedia panel. Use cases: Look at the meaning of a technical term without leaving the panel. Get more info about a topic with an embedded Wikipedia Find a song track details right inside an online media player (YouTube Music or Spotify) Get technical review about a movie without leaving IMDB Notes: 1. To improve the loading speed, the mobile version of Wikipedia is used. You can change this from the options page. 2. The size of the panel as well as the bubble's position is customizable. 3. If you prefer a localized version of Wikipedia, change the default "en" locale ( the language of the loaded Wikipedia page) from the options page.
Wiki Readifyer
Have you ever tried to read an Wikipedia article, trying to gain knowledge but the page's design just hindered your eyes from locating the words that held the desired wisdom? Well, worry no more! Wiki Readifyer makes the knowledge you are searching for pleasantly readable. The wisdom you desire to read is just one installation away! And the best thing: It doesn't remove anything from the page it only changes the layout while staying 100% faithful* to the original contents. The following changes are applied to guarantee the best possible experience: • responsive layout: articles are pleasantly readable at any window size • slight reduction of text-background-contrast • reduction of article width • moving the table of contents to the right where it stays even when scrolling • the title also stays visible when scrolling down • some other little adjustments *However, if the window width is too small the extension will hide the left sidebar, only to guarantee the best use of your precious screen space. To make it visible again, just make the window wider. In 2023, many Wikipedias changed their default theme to Vector 2022, a more modern and user-friendly theme. Wiki Readifyer does not touch Wikipedia's layout if any theme other than the old (legacy) Vector theme is active. This means, to get the advertised layouts on Wikipedias with the new theme, you have to turn off the new skin.

Narrower
Narrower is a simple extension for dealing with annoyingly wide websites. To add margins to a wide page, click on the extension icon and drag the slider. The extension will continue narrowing the current page as long as you stay on the same website. To return the page to its previous state, drag the margin slider to 0% and refresh the page. When you drag the margin slider, Narrower changes the padding value of `document.documentElement`. It then leaves the selected margin in the website's localStorage, so it can be recalled the next time you activate the extension on the site. Changing the padding of the document element doesn't work on 100% of the pages. If a page doesn't become narrower as a result of using the extension, you can always resort to manually changing the browser window size.
