Capture and organise references from search engines and repositories. Resolve identfiers, edit data, and export to BibTeX or RIS. RefMate is a browser extension for collecting and organising academic references directly in your browser. Capture references with one click while searching, resolve any identifier you come across, check availability and edit metadata — everything in one place. Once you're ready, export everything to your reference manager. Capture from anywhere: The Quick Capture button works on Google Scholar, OpenAlex, and Scopus, and is optimised for multiple major repositories. You can also resolve any DOI or ISBN anywhere on the web instantly and add it to your collection. Complete and edit your references: Edit your entries directly in the workspace, add missing fields, rearrange author names, and convert between entry types. Use Autocomplete to fill in missing metadata from existing identifiers, and rely on automatic LaTeX character conversion and BibTeX cleanup for consistent results. Search and check access: Each entry has a Search button that opens a relevant external resource — such as DOIs via libkey.io, ISSNs and ISBNs via WorldCat. Search targets and priorities are fully customisable, so you can point RefMate to your own library catalogue. Organise and export: Tag entries, add free-text notes, and filter your collection. Export everything as a .bib or .ris file, copy all entries to your clipboard, or generate a printable bibliography.
