Picture-in-Picture Anywhere lets you turn any browser tab into a floating PiP window so you can keep it visible while you work in other tabs or apps. Choose between full‑tab PiP or select a precise region of the page to follow. It’s built for quick multitasking: email, dashboards, docs, tickets, chats, or any web app you want to keep in view. Key features • Full‑screen tab PiP from the extension menu • Free‑area selection: draw a rectangle and show only that region • Works on most websites with a single click • Lightweight and minimal, no intrusive UI How it works • Click the extension icon to select an area. • Or right‑click the icon and choose “Full‑screen PiP.” • If Chrome asks for a user gesture, just click once on the page. Why it’s useful • Keep a live dashboard visible while browsing other tabs • Monitor inboxes, chats, or ticket queues • Follow a specific part of the page without distractions Limitations • Chrome requires a user gesture to start PiP if none is already active. • Internal pages like chrome:// cannot be captured. • The minimum PiP window size is controlled by Chrome. Q: Why do I need to click the page sometimes? A: Chrome requires a user gesture to start Picture‑in‑Picture when no PiP is active. One click on the page is enough. Q: Can I make the PiP window smaller? A: Chrome enforces a minimum size. You can select a smaller region to display more compactly. Q: Does it record or upload anything? A: No. The capture is local to your browser and only used to render the PiP window. Q: Can I capture audio too? A: Not in this version; only video is captured to keep it simple and lightweight.
Picture-in-Picture Anything - Place Any Element on Top of your screen
An extension that allows you to use Picture-in-Picture mode on any element of any website. This extension allows you to place any web page element into an Always-on-Top window, similar to video Picture-in-Picture mode, but now for any element. It utilizes a new Document Picture-in-Picture API (https://developer.chrome.com/docs/web-platform/document-picture-in-picture) and works natively in Chrome, Edge, and Opera browsers for desktop. Whether you want to have a video with proper controls and subtitles on top of your screen or an article that you are taking inspiration from before your eyes, this extension will help you. Press a keyboard shortcut (Ctrl-Shift-P) or Click on the extension icon in the toolbar or Right-click on the page and select "Picture-in-Picture Anything" to open the Element Selection Overlay Select an element by clicking the left mouse button on it. Holding a Shift button when selecting an element will open a Precise Selection Panel. There, you can navigate the element tree and select precisely an element you want. Pressing ESC before selecting an element will close the window. Sometimes, you may want to play around with the element you choose to achieve the desired effect (selecting either a parent or child element may help you if an element doesn't behave correctly). Picture-in-Picture Everywhere
PiP Everywhere is a modern Google Chrome extension that lets you enable Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode on any video, any website, anytime. Simply hover your cursor over a video, and a convenient button will appear to display the image in a separate mini-window on top of all other windows. The extension is fully compatible with YouTube, Vimeo, Netflix, Twitch, social media, educational platforms, and any other websites with video players. Now you can watch videos while working in other tabs or apps. Works on all websites, regardless of the embedded player type. Even if a website blocks PiP, the extension automatically bypasses the disablePictureInPicture attribute and unblocks the feature. Just hover your cursor over the video, and a floating button with a PiP icon will appear in the upper right corner. Click it, and the video will instantly open in a separate window, above all other videos. Press Alt + P to toggle PiP mode for the largest video on the page. Works on any website, without opening a popup menu. The extension constantly monitors new videos appearing on the page and automatically adds a PiP button for them—perfect for dynamic websites (YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, etc.). The popup window is designed in the Tailwind CSS style: • Light and dark themes; • Gradient buttons, responsive layout; • Displays the number of videos found on the current page; • "Activate PiP" and "Exit PiP" buttons; • Theme switcher (System / Light / Dark). Full support for 3 languages: The interface automatically selects the browser language or allows you to change it manually. ⚙️ Theme settings and saving The selected theme (light, dark, or system) is saved via the Chrome Storage API, ensuring your interface looks the same every time you launch it. The code is optimized—the extension doesn't impact browser performance, doesn't collect data, and doesn't create unnecessary background processes.
Open in Popup Window
Open any links and images in a popup window This tiny and lightweight extension provides ability to quickly preview links without leaving the current page context. It adds entry in context menu of links, and when clicked, opens new small window at cursor position, with no tab bar and address bar. This extension is intended to be used as an analogue of Safari Link Preview, Arc Peek or Zen Glance. It's a great way to preview links, which works everywhere and is not affected by the CORS problem like extensions which are using iframe element for link preview. Features: ● Open images and search selected text in popup window ● Configurable popup height, width and default position on the screen ● Close popup window when regular window regains focus ● Automatically reopen new single tab windows and tabs opened by page as popup windows ● Remember popup window size on manual resize ● Advanced image viewer with GIF playback control ● Customisable keyboard hotkeys Additional ways to open popup window: ● Modifier key + left click (possible options: Shift / Ctrl / Alt / Meta) ● Double press modifier key ● Drag and drop on empty space ● Long mouse button click (Left / Middle / Right) ● Click on toolbar icon (Search / Open current page in popup) ⚠️ If "Open by drag" and "Shift+click to open" options are not working, or the popup window always gets positioned in the top left corner disregarding the settings, please make sure you gave extension permission to run on every page, and that current page is not restricted from access by extensions (for example, chrome://* pages) 🛡️ Privacy This extension doesn't collect any private data. It's an open source project, and you can see the code on GitHub (as well as share your ideas): https://github.com/emvaized/open-in-popup-window-extension ❤️ You can support this project here ● Ko-Fi (https://ko-fi.com/emvaized) ● Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/emvaized/membership)
Picture-in-Picture for ALL Sites
Enables picture-in-picture mode, even for sites that have disabled it This extension functions similarly to the official Google extension, except it does not include Google Analytics and it ignores the `disablepictureinpicture` attribute on HTML videos. This means that sites like Netflix, Disney Plus, and Hulu will work!
