If you're replying to a comment rather than the original post, Teract traverses up the comment thread, collecting up to 5 parent comments to understand the full conversation context. It formats this as an indented thread hierarchy so the AI knows exactly who said what and who you're responding to. Generated text is inserted directly into the comment editor using the same rich-text commands the platform uses internally. Teract also includes a separate message assistant for LinkedIn messaging. Medium uses Slate.js for its rich-text editor, so comment insertion uses clipboard event simulation — constructing a synthetic ClipboardEvent with a DataTransfer object — which is the most reliable method for this editor type.
