Never lose a source. Highlight anything and instantly return to the original context. Web Highlighter & Source Tracker. Does this look like your research workflow? You find a useful quote or an image in your browser: - Select, copy, and switch tabs. - Paste it into Google Docs, Notion, or Notepad. - Switch back to the browser, copy the URL, and paste the source link. This doesn’t just break your flow—it’s risky. If you forget to paste that link, you’re left staring at a “lonely quote” the next day, forced to dig through hundreds of browser history entries just to find the original context. I built Flect with a simple philosophy: Highlighting should be for thinking, not just transporting. Whether you are a college student writing a thesis, an analyst researching market trends, or a lifelong learner teaching yourself something new, you don’t need another “clipboard.” You need a “portal” that connects fragmented information back to its original context. -- One-Click Return to Original Text: Click on any saved highlight, and the browser will automatically navigate back to the original webpage, precisely scrolling to the exact paragraph where you originally drew the line. -- One-Click Highlighting: Supports highlighting both text and images, allowing you to mark anything on any website effortlessly. -- Easy Organization: Use notes, folders, and tags to organize your highlights, making your research process smoother and more efficient. -- Keyboard Shortcuts: Multiple customizable shortcuts for a better hands-on feel and doubled efficiency during organization. -- Zero Learning Curve: Install and use immediately with an intuitive, simple interface—no manual or tutorial required, keeping research as the main focus. -- No Registration Required: All your data is stored locally on your device only—we do not upload or collect any of your research data. ----- 💬 A Note from the Developer Hi, I’m Felix, the developer of Flect. I built this tool because I was fed up with losing my sources while writing reports. I didn't need a bloated, all-in-one knowledge management system; I just wanted a highlighter that could remember where I was. Flect is still in its early stages and might not have the flashy, complex features of the big plugins. But I promise it will stay fast, focused, and non-intrusive. If something bothers you or if there’s a feature you’re dying to see, please email me directly: hello.flect@gmail.com I read every single email personally. Your feedback is what drives Flect forward. If this tool has made your life a bit easier, leaving a review would be the greatest support you could give. Good luck with your research journey!
